The Dallas Mavericks took home Game 2 of their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and it was quite a heated game. The tension wasn’t exactly between both squads, but rather, between the Thunder fans and Mavericks players. Luka Doncic, in particular, was involved in a confrontation with a fan near NFL stars Kyler Murray and James Conner.

The details aren’t exactly clear. On one end, the announcer mentions that Luka and Murray were having a conversation. However, the camera clip clearly indicates that Doncic was talking to a fan in the area where the football players were seated. Here’s the clip below.

Nevertheless, a moment involving sporting stars such as Doncic and Murray was bound to draw reactions, and X users shared their thoughts on the commotion.

Doncic wasn’t the only one who exchanged pleasantries with courtside spectators. Kyrie Irving was going at it with a fan as well. Toward the end of the game, the Mavericks guard was seen waving goodbye to a heckler before shooting free throws. (via Kyrie Center)

At the end of the day, Doncic and Irving would get the last laugh. Courtesy of a fourth-quarter rally, the Mavericks would overcome their opponents in front of a loud and jeering Paycom Center.

Dallas led the entire first half. Although the Thunder would trim the deficit from double to single digits multiple times, Doncic and Co. still found themselves up by six during halftime.

Early in the third quarter, the Thunder managed to lurch ahead by as much as three points. However, it would be the biggest lead they’d get. Tim Hardaway Jr. then started a rally that would put the Mavericks in front once again.

Oklahoma City would trim their deficit to five in the fourth, but Dallas would respond yet again, maintaining distance until the final buzzer.

Doncic finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. PJ Washington sank seven three-pointers to tally 29 points as well. The forward also added 11 rebounds to his name. From the bench mob, Hardaway Jr. contributed 17 points.

Stealing a game on the road, the Mavericks return to Texas with the series tied at 1 apiece. This time, it’ll be the Thunder players who’ll have to get ready for the energy in the American Airlines Center.
